Samenvatting

This article summarises a report with the same title published in Norwegian on the effect of videoconferencing on the use of business travel. Usage of videoconferencing in Norwegian enterprises has increased and attitudes are generally positive. It is becoming more frequently used in customer contact but within an organisation it is used by a small number of people and for a restricted range of purposes. Substitution effects on business travel are questionable and tend to arise from economic depression. In some cases videoconferencing has generated travel in a company.
