Samenvatting
For this investigation on the braking performance of winter tyres 5 different types of surfaces were used, viz.: thick, smooth ice, thin ice on a smooth pavement, thin ice on a rough pavement, wet smooth and wet rough asphalt pavement. Tests were carried out at 50 km/h and at incipient skid as well as at locked wheel. Six unstudded and four studded types of tyre were used.
