The papers in this record are concerned with improvements in the utility and safety of vehicular operations on streets and highways through improvements in the drivers ability to see and to be seen. The authors of the papers have addressed a wide range of the elements of the "seeing" system, including fixed-source lighting, vehicular lighting systems, and other aspects of the visual environment.
