Samenvatting
It can be shown theoretically that pedestrian guardrails should greatly reduce pedestrian accidents by about 50%. It has been known for 50 years, however, that accidents show little reduction with such guardrails, and many even increase. Most victims are children, because they can not look over the guardrails. The close spacing of the bars is another burden. Therefore the Visirail is developed. The design of the Visirail is presented and discussed here.
