Samenvatting
The apparent sharpness of an image moving on a television screen is others determined by the summating properties of the retina. In dependence on velocity v, exposure time t, brightness and colour the conditions for perception of a detail of a moving object were determined, the object consisting of two luminous bands separated by a dark one, the criterion being the distinguishment of the dark band. The brightness required for distinguishment of the dark band increases with increasing velocity.
