Samenvatting

This note considers visual acuity in relation to driving. Since the measurement of visual acuity is widely used as a test of the adequacy of drivers' vision its usefulness in revealing the state of vision is discussed. It is suggested that the normal measure of acuity is probably the best single measure of the state of vision currently in use, but a test developed to show the adequacy of the visual system as a whole might be more useful.
