Samenvatting

For several years, a great number of road intersections have been made up or modified into roundabouts to improve better traffic flow and safety. If on the whole these new conditions are better this does not exclude that a vehicle's integration in other traffic flow is a difficult situation to resolve for the drivers. In order to evaluate the task and the manner in which the driver masters it, the eye movements of drivers in actual situations were recorded. The results show the influence of several precise situations in relation to heavy traffic, the position of the vehicle in the zone, and the traffic rules.
