The voids content of porous asphalt concrete at verges silts up after a couple of years. This paper describes the results of tests undertaken to clean porous asphalt concrete verges by rinsing them with high pressure water jet from an adjusted pistoncar sweeper. Recommendations are also given to prevent the pollution of porous asphalt at verges. It appears that pollution exists mainly in the upper layer (upper cm). This pollution probably originates from condensation of polluted spray on to the verge rather than from dirt that is left behind by the passage of water underneath it.
