Samenvatting
The advance of telematics in traffic and transport continues. Telecommunication and information play a real role in freight transport, public transport and private transport. By the application of telematics their efficiency is increased, and new developments in service will arise. For political reasons the Dutch Ministry of Traffic and Transport strongly encourages the applications of telematics and the current telematics infrastructure. The telematics policy is an essential part of the total traffic and transport policy of the Ministry. Telematics is the instrument to manage the mobility of persons and freight. Telematic services will also improve the international competition position of the Dutch transport section.
