This publication contains the proceedings of a two-day conference on road engineering, held in Ede, The Netherlands, on 26th and 27th May 1988. The discussion papers are presented in three parts. Part 1 contains the contributions on the design, methods and measurement techniques used for the design, repair and maintenance of the road surface and its strengthening or reconstruction.
