Samenvatting
This report contains a research about influence of characteristics of roads and their direct surroundings on drivers behaviour. The research exists of two parts: first an inventory is made of all the characteristics and second a pilot-study is done by using a driving simulator. During the experiment with the driving simulator, persons had to drive through several different conditions of road characteristics. The drivers behaviour was expressed in velocity, lateral position and the deviation of the lateral position. The main conclusion is: drivers keep their velocity constant under different conditions while their lateral position is changing under those different conditions. (A)
