Road safety measures in the Netherlands are increasingly based on a quantitative analysis of their cost-effectiveness. It is imperative for a rational decision process that all relevant effects of measures be quantified as objectively as possible. The relative importance of these effect is, however, determined by a subjective value-judgement. The effects and costs of roadside objects have been built in a model.
