Samenvatting
Political stability and economic growth in Eastern Europe require that priority is given to developing road infrastructure and establishing market access rules accommodating the increase in road transport demand. A shift towards market economy in Central and Eastern Europe implies a more important role of road transport. Its flexibility and productivity are required if a rapid economic development is to be achieved. Present and pending economic changes in Eastern Europe furthermore require managerial and vocational training and the modernisation of transport equipment.
