Samenvatting
When considering the safety of rail bound transport and the safety of the maintenance personnel on or near the railway, there appears to be two different safety systems obviously which have been worked out. A global summary is given of research into accidents and incidents occurred on or near the railway in an arbitrary year. As regards the developments in the rail bound transport for the next fifteen years, there will be threats and chances for a safe maintenance. Conclusions form the last part of this paper.
