What driving behaviour do we need to change and how do we change it?

Across the world the major cause of death among 1-40 year-olds is road crashes. Across the world road casualties are increasing though in high income countries they are decreasing. For some time to come road crashes will remain a major problem for almost every country. A good deal is known about the factors associated with crash involvement. First a brief overview of the main issues will be considered, then some underlying factors will be examined followed by barriers to change and finally one specific approach to changing behaviour will be considered.
