Samenvatting
In a comprehensive survey of experimental evidence over the past fifty years it is shown that lecturing can be an effective teaching tool. Useful discussions of such questions as the optimum length of lectures, how to use discussion methods in large classes, various techniques of preparation and the use of audio-visual and other aids are provided.
