Why young men drive dangerously : implications for injury prevention.

Samenvatting

The author argues that, rather than assuming risk taking in young men is stupid, it makes more sense to argue that it is an adaptive mechanism that was significant to our ancestors and is still significant today. Starting with this premise, we will be less likely to underestimate young men's risk taking driving behavior, and will be more prepared to create ways to persuade them that these behaviors can be harmful and deadly in conjunction with driving an automobile.
