Parking restrictions in commuter traffic offer limited possibilities for the diversion of motorised private transport to public transit. Such are the conclusions of an investigation into parking restrictions for working persons. Using four scenarios, which in part include parking restrictions going beyond present legal bases, this paper shows that possibilities of changing the modal split with the help of such measures are limited.
