Samenvatting
To judge from existing literature from West Germany (1980), Canada (1982), Australia (1984) as well as the Netherlands (1985), concerning research into the effect and evaluation of police monitoring of traffic behaviour, the Federal Republic of Germany appears to have ignored the problem; no German research results are reported. Future research into the topic of traffic monitoring is thus challenged to redress the balance and to prove the direct usefulness in terms of road safety.
