As the Asphalt Institute's representative at the American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHO) Road Test from 1956 through 1960, the author of this article participated in many phases of project construction and testing, and attended meetings of the National Advisory Committee and the special advisory panels. In this article he offers his perspectives on the AASHO Road Test's enduring legacy.
