Samenvatting
Recent research in the Netherlands on residential areas is reviewed. The gaps in the way this research was done are pointed out and a method for another research method is given. A reaction scheme for the conflict analysis is presented. It is useful to organize contact-events to improve the public participation of the residential area population. The people will have less feelings of constraint when they have been involved from the beginning.
