Samenvatting
The use of mobile communications, positioning systems and in-vehicle telematics is increasing. Multi- and intermodal traffic management systems are being developed, based on a smart traffic solution portal (STSP) and a set of generic smart traffic applications (STA). Using these STAs different types of traffic management services can be provided. There are three types of smart traffic solutions: information-based solutions, traffic control solutions and infrastructure pricing solutions. Cell broadcast is another enabling technology offered by mobile telecom network operators. Business opportunities based on STSPs are discussed. For the covering abstract see ITRD E115762.
