Samenvatting
Four aspects, which are of importance for the protection of the relative weak road user, the pedestrian, are presented (1) the public opinion and the change in philosophy;(2) technical means for the segregation of traffic, the design of vehicles etc; (3) legal means, and (4) educational means. In particular the situation in residential areas must be adapted to the possibilities of children, disabled persons and elderly people.
