During the winter 1978/1979 the number of accidents with severe damage increased with 15%, while the number of injuries decreased by 9%, although the number of injuries from accidents due to slipperiness have increased. In particular the number of severe injuries decreased, which was the best shown in the northern regions from Germany during January.
