The International Cycling Safety Conference, hosted by SWOV on November 15 to 17, brought together almost 200 delegates from over 25 countries to bike through the Hague, experience workshops on bicycle streets and bicycle simulators, meet other people professionally interested in cycling safety, learn from each other and share knowledge. The extended abstracts for all presenters (including SWOV-researchers Gert Jan Wijlhuizen, Teun Uijtdewilligen, Celina Mons and Sarah Gebhard) can be found in the Book of Abstracts. In addition, a special issue of Traffic Safety Research for ICSC 2023 is open to submission of full papers of all accepted abstracts until January 31.
We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the partners of ICSC 2023. Their contribution made it possible for SWOV to host this edition of the conference: Transoft Solutions, the Municipality of the Hague, The Hague & Partners, Royal Dutch Gazelle and the Dutch Ministry for Infrastructure and Water Management.
After months of hard work and preparation, it is time to pass the baton to the organisers of the next edition of the conference: ICSC 2024 will be held from 5 to 7 November in Imabari, Japan and proudly hosted by IATSS International Association of Traffic and Safety Sciences.
